You'll find something fortifying to build you up for the road ahead. Even when slight they are composed, with a sense of purpose. Many of these albums are stacked with great songs, but these aren't snacks. There's plenty of fun, but little escapism. Everywhere on this list you'll find the thrill of artistic revelation, musicians finding themselves, willing something new into reality. Our list of the year's 50 best is topped by an album that was unmatched in concept, songwriting or performance, but it had so much good company. So maybe that's why, when we sat down together to discuss which albums we loved the most over the course of 2021, NPR Music's staff and contributors found ourselves drawn to albums by artists making breakthroughs, moving forward with clarity, without balking at the obstacles falling in their way. The first three seasons of The Dragon Prince are available to stream on Netflix.If the year presently coming to a close was a dance, it'd be a hesitant shuffle, tentative steps toward - or heyyyy, maybe away from? - an uncertain future. The fact that the show is coming to SDCC at all is good news, but fans will have to wait just a little while longer to find out if The Dragon Prince Season 4 is actually happening. He even teased what fans could expect if the show does get renewed, including more of the mystical land of Xadia, its politics, and the mysterious Sunfire Elves.
However, despite Ehsaz’s reported behavior, The Dragon Prince co-creator was still hopeful that the animated series would get a fourth season on Netflix. These allegations were backed by two other employees who worked with Ehasz. Danika Harrod, the former Head of Community Development at Wonderstorm (the studio founded by Ehasz and Richmond to make The Dragon Prince), spoke up about feeling too scared to come forward publicly following a “painful” experience. Late last year, allegations came to light against The Dragon Prince co-creator Aaron Ehasz, who was accused of misogynistic behavior toward his female employees. That said, Season 4 may actually be in jeopardy despite news of the SDCC panel.
